Elephant Toothpaste

What you need

• 1/2 cup 3% hydrogen peroxide
• 1 tbsp dry yeast and 3 tbsp warm water
• Squirt of dish soap
• Food coloring
• Empty plastic bottle, a tray, and goggles

The Lesson

The yeast is a catalyst. It speeds up the breakdown of peroxide into water and oxygen gas. The soap traps the gas as foam. A good coach or mentor works like a catalyst: the talent was already there, but they speed up the growth.
